On Dec. 29, members of the 2005 and U14 New England Bulldogs took to the ice at Tsongas Arena for something unique. The Bulldogs participated in a game of sled hockey with experienced players from across New England. A lot of thanks to Jen and Tom Ford for all of their effort and hard work in putting this event together. Our plan is to play more of these games. It was a ton of fun and great for everyone.
At the skills competition the Squirt Major 08 team won the Relay skate with Jacoby Patterson, Matthew Lumia, Chace Kivlehan, and Derek Perault. Cohlton Carmody was the shootout winner and Grady Avila did amazing finishing 3rd in the goalie competition facing the most difficult shooters.
Chase Kivlehan also won a week long Can Am hockey camp scholarship for his essay on how he tries to be a leader on his team.
The team also won the “Fair Play Award” for the team that had the least amount of penalties in the tournament.
The United States Premier Hockey League ("USPHL") and the Eastern Hockey Federation ("EHF") have agreed to merge operations (the "Merger") into the USPHL to form the nation's largest amateur hockey league. The EHF will maintain its name and current 11 team Elite structure along with its multi-level, multi member Tier I divisions under the USPHL umbrella.
The new combination will also allow the EHF Selects Midget Division to create a one-of-a-kind competitive schedule with the USHPL's most competitive full season Midget teams to provide unmatched exposure to NCAA hockey programs for young aspiring hockey players.
The USPHL and EHF organizations have each developed a complete player development model where, for the 2018/2019 season, boys will train, compete and enjoy the sport of ice hockey within their respective age group at the right competitive level.
These programs go beyond the on-ice experience to include education, leadership and community service components to help foster a complete student-athlete. Upon completion of this process, the USPHL membership will consist of over 100-member organizations with 11,000 players spanning the ages of 6 through 20 and having a geographic reach that spans the complete Eastern Seaboard and expands west as far as Wisconsin.
The Merger of the EHF into the USPHL will be completed over the summer and will commence competition in September of 2018.
Please visit the USPHL website or the EHF website for more information regarding member teams and further announcements.
